Indonesian national government keeps networking with North Sulawesi in the coming World Ocean Conference (WOC), 11—14 May 2009. Minister of Ocean and Fishery, Freddy Numberi had a meeting with local committee and the authority of Indonesian armed forces in North Sulawesi. According to Numberi everything is on schedule. There will be no changing concerning the venue of WOC. He evaluates that North Sulawesi has the potential to be the host for WOC and moreover it is in accordance with the presidential decree. Head of North Sulawesi’s Ocean and Fishery Department, Xandramayu Lalu says that if there still has not finished infrastructure, the committee will look for other alternative. But, the place of WOC will not be moved out to another province.(irr)
